The Exploring Kent and Beyond group visit places of interest on the 2nd or 1st Friday each month.
In January each year the members group meets to plan the year’s visits. The members of the group then take turns to lead a trip and can pair up with another member for each trip and beforehand complete a recce of the place the group will be visiting to include a coffee break and lunch at the place we are visiting or nearby in a pub or similar which usually offers sandwiches, light snacks and main meals which the group member pays for. Members of the group buy their own travel tickets, entry tickets, and should bring bus pass. Members must be able to buy online tickets when needed.

Visit to Lewes
The Exploring Kent and Beyond Group visited Lewes recently, travelling by bus. We toured Lewes Castle which has magnificent views over the area, lunched at Cote de Brasserie, and walked around Anne of Cleve's house. Although she never lived there, it was part of the queen's settlement when she agreed to her marriage to Henry VIII being annulled.
