Our annual programme is shown on our group page. If there is anything you do not like about the programme, please let me know immediately. Do not wait until a few days before.
At our meeting in February, 2025, we agreed that, by exception, our programme could accomodate special events that do not fall on the 4th Friday. We also agree that, where there might be division in a large group, there was no reason why we should not have two separate groups with different destinations. Again, this was by exception.
And finally - a reminder - should any of us be going to an event or place that may be of interest to others in the group at any time, please feel free to ask others to join you, whether it is one or the whole group. This sharing is part of our experience.
Use of Photo Albums
We now have four albums in my Google Photos. As some albums will be cleared out monthly, please make sure you identify any favourites of other's photos by hearting them.
In the photo view, there is information at the top. Do not use this for comment or favourite selection. The (i) will provide camera and lens information if required.

Our area is at the bottom. Use the heart (sparingly) to select excellent photos worthy of transfering the the year's best album. Ensure you make an entry, no matter how brief, in the "Say something" part. It helps viewers identify the author and gain some insight into what the author is thinking at the time of taking the photo. Use the box to explain your link to the month's letter or anything of note in the photo. Use the same box to add comments on other's photos.

General: This album is for any photo taken this year that you want to share with the other members. Try to keep is to a few rather than dozens. And as you add more during the year, remove earlier ones unless someone has hearted them.
Photos from visits: This will be renamed with every visit and emptied ready for the next visit. Wherever we visit, only photographs taken on that visit are permitted. No entries for the same location but at a different date are allowed.
Monthly Letter: Each month, we will have a different letter. Photos will be cleared out at the end of the month ready for the next letter. Photos submitted to this album must be linked to a subject beginning with the letter and must have been taken that month. No entries for subjects linked to the letter but taken outside of the month are permitted.
Best of the year: This folder will hold the best of the other three albums. I will ask those whose photos are hearted in the other three albums to transfer them to this album. At the end of the season, we will have a review of the favourites with votes for the best.
Google Photos allows you to submit to my albums when invited. Any photos you submit can be later removed by you and I can remove them if necessary. From then on, you will be able to find these albums simply by logging on to your Google Photos where you will see these albums. You do not need to remember or find the orginal links.
Moving you hearted photos to best of year albums. If we want to move any photo to the “best of” album: Select the album but do not double click to go into the album, click once on the photo, select the three dots, select “Add to album”, select the desired album. The photo is then copied to the other album but without hearts etc.
When submitting photos, please do not submit RAW or large files. Jpegs are enough for sharing on the web. There are other web formats you can use too, but jpegs are the most common.
Do not be afraid to critique a photo with helpful suggestions, but be aware, as many of our discussions have shown, not everyone will necessarily agree with the critique. It is this positive sharing in the group that continues our learning.
